This week I have a serious problem with my post. I want to talk to you about my biggest favourite, hungarian band called Vad Fruttik, but 2000 characters are too slim. It’s like a movie trailer with that strait voice of a man in my head: when Marcsi is starting to talk about her favourites – no one can stop her. (and of course there comes a superhero – David Hasselhoff from the Knight Rider, why not? – and finally stops her.)

Actually they have only one video, only one cd, but a million fan (I am one of them:). In normal case, I don’t think translate the names of the bands is neccessary or just useful but in this special case I have to do it.
So, the band is called Vad Fruttik, where vad means wild, and fruttik is a kind of fruity tasted candy, somewhere between marshmellows and a jawbreaker, everyone knows it in Hungary.

And now imagine a group of sweet goodies playing pop in the stage and singing about a yellow Zsiguli, a typical (not just) hungarian car from the 80’s. Do you understand what I’m trying to talk about? :) Yes, I’m just trying because of my age, I’m only 21. All I remember from the 80’s is not too much, maybe the desing of my mother’s skirts.
But back to music. A group of young, crooked, freaky hungarian guys wrote a song about their childhood, about what happened while they were sitting in playground and eating sand with a plastic shovel. Ok, maybe they were older.
Maybe their parents had a Zsiguli, maybe not. Maybe it was their dreamcar. Maybe that Zsiguli was K.I.T.T. for them, from the hungarian version of Knight Rider:), and yes, finally came David Hasselhoff – and stopped her :).
You can find the whole story about the yellow Zsiguli and more information, photos and everything on their website in hungarian: http://vadfruttik.uw.hu (if you need other songs or information about them in english, just leave a comment).

Hello,
While listening to European radio stations online I heard a song by Vad Fruttik - Kicsit Lassabb.
It reminded me of another Jazz/Rock band from Hungary a long time ago ... SKORPIO. (they had a good album called ":Unnepnap".
I really liked the style and sound.
I'll have to find out more.
cheers
