Pop culture, pink clothes, screaming teenagers. Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and all of those stupid teen idols.
One dear of my friends who reads my posts asked me a question. He asked me why hadn’t I posted any of the most popular, easy popgroups of this period yet. At first I though he doesn’t know me at all, me and the super cutie or just simply blockish popsongs... Rather I’d listen to Modern Talking at the rest of my life (I don’t like them so much... ok, I hate them), than an „oh boy, I will always love you, never mind that I’m just 18” song with glitters.
But then I realized two things while I looked for a good pop song to post. The first is that I like several ways of pop, hurray! The second is more important: I realized, that nothing on my CD shelf can describe Hungary better, than a very popular, well known pop song. If you switch on the tv and one of the hungarian speaking music channels play a song at last twice a day, you got it, it’s pop. (And a pintch of irony, just for me:)).

Sugarloaf (not the american one) was based as a rock band in 1995, and through the years the initial five boys formed into a three boy and a girl line-up, the present singer is a girl from the hungarian idol (so as the singer of the Magashegyi Underground whom I mentioned here). The reason I choose them for this pop post is their last song, called Barbie from their newest album, Neon.

The song is about „my look is my everything” girls who want diamonds (because they are the girls’ best friend, I know, I know...) and cool cars, have breast implants and collagen in their lips. Oh, and irony. The whole song is full of irony, in contribution by the Hungarian Playmate team (finally, I can show you something interesting from my country!) and some inland celebrities like hungarian Paris Hilton. Ok, I’m just joking of course. She’s much more better than Paris:).
At last I hope I won’t be beheaded beacause of my „Sugarloaf plays pop” sentence, but I wanted to show you what is one of the most played song by hungarian music tvs. And I wanted to show you one more little thing: hungarian women are beautiful, aren’t they? See you next week.
